Re: Getting a Truck Driving Job

Your felony conviction date was August 2006?

Go to www.hireright.com and download the list of required information to request a FREE COPY of your file/record.

If (and i believe it is) the conviction was for Drugs, you'll not ever be Driving at ANY Company that has a decent reputation. Possession has a wide range of possibilities (stolen property, aiding and abetting, intent to sell/distribute, etc.) however it is usually for Drugs.

Trucking is very unforgiving regarding Drug and Alcohol convictions.

I have a DWI from August 1991 (in a 4 wheeler 7 years before CDL upgrade) that is still listed on my State MVR and HAS BEEN A REASON I've not been hired at some Trucking Companies, so go figure. (I had to wait 7 years from the DWI conviction before I could apply for a CDL-A and that conviction was a Criminal Misdemeanor in Criminal Court)

Some Companies state clearly in Qualifications/Requirements:

NO FELONY EVER or NO Felony in 3 or 5 or 10+ years.

There are MANY driving schools that are only interesting in profit and care not about the students. You obviously went to one. These schools will tell students what the students WANT TO HEAR and after training will ignore these students or offer crappy leads, when at all.

Good Luck but MAYBE driving a Fork TRUCK or a manual Pallet TRUCK is your future.

I hope safe and pleasant journeys to Thee and Thy Loved Ones!!
