HEY ALL!! I AM IN NEED OF SOME INFO..QUESTION IS I HAVE ABOUT 2 YRS DRIVING EXPERIENCE BUT IT IS ALL IN ONE STATE AND I WANT TO BECOME A OVER THE ROAD DRIVER.I HAVE NO OTR EXPERIENCE AND MOST JOBS OUT THERE ARE EXPECTING SOME. MY QUESTION IS, HOW YOU GET OVER THE ROAD EXPERIENCE IF NOBODY IS WILLING TO GIVE YOU JOB DOING IT WITHOUT EXPERIENCE IN IT ALREADY? I MADE BIG MISTAKE ABOUT 3 YRS AGO ALSO AND DROVE DRUNK (PERSONAL VEHICLE) AND YOU WOULD THINK I HAD KILLED SOMEBODY.I AM A VERY HARD WORKER AND IF ANYONE OUT THERE WOULD GIVE ME A CHANCE TO PROVE IT I WOULDNT LET YOU DOWN IM SURE OF THAT! ANYWAY MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I GET EXPERIENCE OVER THE ROAD WITHOUT SOMEBODY WILLING TO GIVE YOU A CHANCE ?

hey driver, did you try usa truck? or swift? i know they are always looking for drivers & they might hire you what ever you do is dont go over to werner thet are *** well good luck out there and stay safe..........

That driver that said dont go to werner but try Swift,I have a comment to that.I did drive for werner for over 2  yrs and I do agree with you about not going there unless youre just starting out or if you dont mind getting 1000 miles or less a week.But what makes you think Swift is any better then Werner.I heard their turnover rate is higher then Werner.

I know what you mean about having a hard time finding a job.Cpmpanies see a mark on your MVR  and they wont give you a chance.People make mistakes but in the trucking industry they dont believe in second chances.I cant find a job nowhere because my DAC has 2 marks on it that is A LIE.but try and prove your case to a recruiter it is impossible.you the driver ARE GUILTY NO MATTER WHAT. I did make a comment about Werner.Yes that company isnt the greatest if u have the exp.but since you dont have any OTR exp,werner is a great place to get the exp.you go to the east coast alot and they do have good trainers.I heard Schneider is a real good company as well.as far as swift goes the trainers will literally force you to drive more hrs then your capable of because they dont train like they should all they care about is the miles.Covenant is the same way.What I mean by force is if you refuse to drive the hrs the trainers want you too then theyll drop you off to the nearest hotel believe me i know it has happened to me be4. take care and good luck  patty

hey patricia I cant get into swift either because of my dui in july of 2005.werner denied me and told me to reapply in april.i have 3 things that are whooping me bad and that is living to far south the dui and lack of experience.crst was going to hire me but all of a sudden there is a hiring freeze here in florida.i have been applying everywhere willing to relocate go teams or solo.i will go wherever they want me too.i have heard good and bad about werner also.i have alot of friends who do drive and they all have different feeling about them. i tried schneider also cr england and im to far south.i tell them to just give me job and i will move closer but they want you to move first then they will deal with you.anyway thanks for your response and hopefully something will come out of this soon. my name is shannon and if you want to keep in touch my email is screamingeagle6969@yahoo.com.

usa and swift wont hire me because of my dui back in 2005.they want 5 yrs before they will take me.i have tried alot of companies and i have three things kicking me down every chance they get.dui most want 5 yrs live to far south tell them give me job iwill move wherever andlack of experience which my argument is how is anyone to get that experience if nobody willing to give it to you.anyway if you know of anyone who is willing email me at screamingeagle6969@yahoo.com .
