Anyone driving for CRST, take the per diem option or not?

New to trucking industry, flopped around with solo work for a year after graduating the SAGE t/t training. Like the otr team concept and looking for a carrier. No tickets, points or criminal history concerns. CRST appears to be the best team carrier and looking to hear from those who drive for them. Scheduled to start with them in Carlisle on 2/5/07. Thank you,

    Murph

I am a new driver for CRST I have just finished my training and at present am waiting for a co-driver. I'd like to hear from you and see how you made out with this company? I see your message was posted Jan of 07 you should have an opinion by now.

yes crst is a great beginner company, if you like being in a truck that moves 24 hours a day 7 days a week. an you like to go to sleep trusting someone you dont know to guide an 80,000 lb truck down a 6 percent grade while you sleep. an gettin woke up to back your partner in every time they have to back up, gettin woke up to guide them to the shipper, consignee , help route them and  basically train them. it is a good starter company, you'll see the first time your partner hits something and your awoken to an accident. i liked the company, but i didnt get paid for babysitting and most drivers that stay with crst are scared to drive solo and i am a female. i like running 10 hours shutting my truck down, going out to eat, play games, visit with other drivers or just lounge around. and i get 10 hours with out they truck going anywhere. so check out other options you will be glad you did. alot of companies hire new drivers and you have peace of mind and your own space
