First off let me say this,if your fear of bridges is as bad as my wifes then you better find you another line of work, and Im not joking.
Second, how long is a driver out? Depends on the company.Lot of them require a driver to stay out a min.of 3 weeks, then you get 3 days at home.
Third, how much will you make?Coming out of school, youll be with a trainer for a couple of weeks, thats if he/she can stand to be with you,and your pay will be a fixed rate, usually around 300.00-350.00. a week. Then if you have not payed for the schooling, the company that hires you will pay the bill for you. Then your stuck with that company until you fulfil that contract that you (HAVE TO) signed. That way they get there money back. And they more then likely will start you anywhere from .22 cents a mile to .25cents a mile, for the year or so that you are obligated to stay with them cause of the contract that you (HAVE TO) signed with them.
Not trying to scare you but unless you were born on a silver platter, your gonna go broke out on the road. That 350 a week befor taxes does not include your meals and personal needs.... BUT back to your fear of bridges. Virginia and Lousiana both has a bridge thats over 10 miles long. And I can almost promiss you that you will do New York. The GW (George Washington) is about half amile long and about half a mile up,and theres been a may of times Ive been stuck upon top of that it,cause of traffic. JUst from your letter you really should find another line of work, Good Luck....
