my hubby went to work for werner straight outta cdl school. he got a good trainer, whom he still talks to, however, werner said he would only be out with the trainer 2 weeks, ended up being 6, spending most time in a motel, was then out another 3 weeks driving on his own, when he finally demanded home time they bobtailed him home 500 miles. He got a day and a half home. Then they begged him to go to western regional, told him he would make so much more money, he went from .28 to .25 and only 2000 miles a week. It took less than a day to get on western regional, more than a week to go back to all 48. he could never get a hold of his dispatcher, then told him that the "per diem" pay, which cut him all the way back to .23 cpm, he couldnt get out of.
