I look through this website and found several companies like Priority Transportation, TRL, WH Trans, and Jim Palmer. That all have bitten the dust. Why should I apply on here if you're going to send my app to those people? And are you going to my app to companies that I don't work for? Seems like big waste of time to me.

Okay guys and gals i have a stupid question i think i know my answer all ready. I just recently lost my job of 5yrs and want to go back into truck driving and i have two problems one i don't have a cdl anymore but i i know i can get one again but my main concern is i have a court ordered class i have to be at every tuesday night at 7pm is there anyway any trucking company would hire me and let me get home long enough for that class?

Hello, I need some information (since the Fla/Bama offices are closed today). I have a Class "A" CDL w/Hazmat/tanker & wish to move my residence to Bama. Does Bama recognize my license or how does it that work? Is testing needed or ?. I have a clean/spotless record. Use to drive for a little bit and probably going to get back in it since the kids are growing up :) . Been in Fla all my life & time for a change since the kids are moving etc.

I need a list of truck stops, rest areas any where you may have encountered them post them in your replies. To date I have employed and interviewed two girls for my tell all book. This book is meant to enlighten everybody on THE oldest profession in the world. I have learned so much and have found myself to be less judgmental about these women. You can expect the good as well as the bad to be included between the pages and if I find your personal story to be of particular interest I may ask you to sit for an interview. Looking for a team partner for an OTR position

I recently graduated from Roadmaster in Tampa, FL. I am having a hard time getting hired for OTR position with any company. I found a job, but I need a OTR partner. Any other recent graduates looking in the Tampa area who want to team up for this job? The pay and benefits seem competitive. Or any other help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

DO NOT go to work for hendrickson trucking. They have a lease option with no money down and no credit check, but you'll barely get enough miles to make your truck payment. i'm there now and i'm getting out. they promise 2500 miles but i've barely seen 1500. they're like a 50 year old easter egg. it looks good on the outside but once you crack it open it stinks to high heaven.

Hello fellow truckers! I have run into a BIG problem, and I need some help. I smoked a couple of puffs of marijuana on one of my off days. About three weeks later, I got called in for a random, and of course,failed it and got fired. I have since then successfully completed the D.O.T's return-to-duty status requirements. This is a program that they have in place, so that a driver has to successfully complete before they can return to safety sensitive duties. So, I borrowed the 500.00 that it cost, and completed the program, that took about 2 months. Now I find that many carriers and their insurance companies, have a ZERO tolerance policy. They are treating this as if I were a high profile felon.I have all the proper documents/certificates as proof of my completion. I am asking you drivers if you can help me with any info that may help me to get back to work. I don't smoke anymore,of course. I am just looking for someone that will hire me. Someone that will give me a chance, and let my GOOD driving record of 19 yrs, ( accident free, no speeding tickets,strong work ethic, and approx. 2 MIL miles), be the determining factor. Not focus on the the mistake that I made. I have unemployed since March 2009. I am ready to get back out there, and continue to do what I do best. Have a blessed day, drivers. I gaurentee you will make at least 1000.00 per week. The company where the truck is leased to, also offers a 1000.00 sign on bonus.

You can't have any DUI's or Felonies, and you must have at least 2 years exp. and a hazmat endorsement on your CDL. It's a perfect job

I drove back in 03 and 04 then a little in 07. Now i have not found a company to hire me because i dont have recent experience. I talked to Swift yesterday and they said my dac and mvr were fine but it wouldnt be until september til they could hire me. I am in need of work now. I need help if anyone has and for m e. I'm trying to find out how to get back into the drilver's seat. I have had a helluva time applying for jobs and I really need advice And company refferals. I was terminated falsely about 1 1/2 yrs ago and I collected unemployment. My mom took sick so I took care of her. I have 2 accidents no fault, And my DAC just got cleared cause the company put some crap on it. The accidents are on the dac and show no fault. anyway I'm just trying to make ends meet and can't find anything. I don't turn down loads and run like crazy. what should I do?

I need 50-60 drivers willing to talk about their experiences on the road. I do the interviews over the phone at your convenience. I will be putting these interviews together for an upcoming book about the trucking life. Questions I will ask include: What is the most unusual cargo you've ever hauled? Where is your favorite place to haul (least favorite)? What's the most unusual thing you've seen while driving? What is your pet peeve while driving? These are just a few, there may be others during the actual interview.

My partner and I are in need of information regarding tractor insurance. We are trying to start up a new company running under our own operating authority, but we are having a hard time finding a insurance company. Our driving records are very good, my partner has had his CDL class A for almost three years and has been driving locally and has 6 months recent otr. As for myself I stupidly let my CDL expire thinking that I will no longer need it. I have just reinstated my CDL because of this our experience record is creating this insurance problem. If anyone can give us a lead on which insurance companies will handle new o/o teams we would greatly appreciate it. We are not a couple of kids we are older. We know that some insurance company some where has to handle this kind of stuff but we are having ahard time finding one.

Not Sure What To Do

Hello to all. Just passed my CDL 'A' yesterday. Going to DMV on Tuesday to get my new license, as well as add doubles/triples and tanker endorsements. Due to being a newbie with NO experience, I am going to one of the infamous "starter" companies. I am doing this ONLY out of necessity.

I'll be honest; I have been accepted by XXXXX and can go to training the 20th of THIS month. However, I am growing concerned about their "reputation" for treatment of drivers, specifically their trainees. I know that I have to start at the bottom and work my way up and I wouldn't have it any other way. BUT I would like to start my trucking career on a positive note and not wait days at a terminal waiting for the next load (as I hear is often the case at XXXXXX, among many other issues).

Anyway, if anyone knows of a decent company or a O/O second seat opportunity for someone in Northern Illinois area, let me know. I am a retired veteran and my wife is a fed gov't employee, SO I do not need benefits, just a paycheck.

Like it says in the heading, I have had it. For months, I have been looking for a job on trucking job websites like this one. Only to be rejected because of my job history. Yes, I have had eight trucking jobs in the last four years. Five I have been terminated from, three I have resigned from. Plus, three others that I was rejected from because either I failed the road test, or the company decided not to hire me for some reason not given. Fine by me, to hell with them. The problem being is that idiot recruiters and trucking companies count those places as employment. Claiming that I worked for 11 truck companies instead of eight. What utter morons and tools they are. Just because I only went as far as their company orientation doesn't they hired me. By the way, I three accidents and two incidents on my DAC in four years. Nothing major, no fatalities or injuries. Just some minor body damage. But some truck companies tell me if I work for one trucking company for six months or one year, they might hire me. What the hell good is that?!? I need a job now, not when it's better for them! Don't even get me started on those DAC fixer companies. They claimed they'll fix your DAC if you pay them $170.00 first. What garbage that is! If I had a $170.00, I would never give it to them. They're just parasites and vultures trying to scam people out of their money. They can't fix a damn thing. Websites like only do business with the major truck companies like U.S. Express, Western Express, Transport America, Sisbro Inc., J & R Schugel, Southern Refrigerated Transport (SRT), Barr-Nunn Transportation, West Side Transport, and others like them who already turned me down for employment. But keeping recommending those truck companies to me. What a waste of time that is. If they're not part of my solution, then they're part of my problem. *** keep trying them. As to why I got terminated from a couple of trucking companies? With Western Express, I would not put up with their BS. They're great at keeping you on the road for weeks, but come time for you to go home. They use every and any excuse they can think of to you out of the road. Then, short change your paycheck the first chance they get. Worse, is they want you to travel over your ten hours to make a delivery on time. If you get caught by DOT, then it's your fault not theirs. After working for them a month, I requested some home time. But kept stalling me load after load, until I finally gave them a piece of my mind. After which they fired me. Good riddance to them. That's why I have had it. I'm not wasting my time here or with trucking.

I'm a 42 year old male that just got screwed. I left my company after 3 1/2 years to go to something that I thought was a sure thing. I live in Northern Illinois and have a clean MVR. I have over 300K miles and I need work. The company I went to go to is not up and running yet. I'm faced working anything just to get by. I'm a really straight and clean guy who just needs to make a decent living for my family. I mainly have driven flatbed for the last 3 1/2 years. I'm accident free.

Help me find a missing trucker...

I am looking for a trucker by the name of Vincent Luisi. He is an independent who drives for a refrigerated line (which one I don't know....but out of Tulsa or Atlanta). He is 5'9'', about 200 lbs., blonde hair, blue eyes.

He travels with his dog, Buck, a chocolate lab.

He left Atlanta in late February and was not well....had a bad cough, which had been growing steadily worse over the last year.

He hasn't been heard from since and the cell phone number has been cut off.

His teenage children, whom he texted/talked with several times per week are very worried and don't even know how to begin looking for him.

Can anyone point us in a direction? Is there a network among truckers that might help us find him?

Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

My dream get with an expierenced driver and a get cdl. I have had cdl permit and would be willing to get it again. I am a damn hard worker this is a dream I have had forever. Because of some bad choices in life going to cdl school doesn't seem to be an option for the next year but I am trying. Anyway I want to start a new life for me and for my daughter. I do not have a Hazmat on my CDL but I have all the other endorsements Tanker, double/ triples, bus(not school bus). Anyhow, I have not been OTR since 2004 but I have managed to get a couple of local CDL driving jobs since then running local. I tried to get on with Swift, went to orientation and for some reason didn't get hired ( I hear some of the students didn't get hired either, something about over hiring). Anyhow, here I am out hunting for work drivin a truck with a good CDL but no recent OTR within the last 6 months and so far I am getting frustrated. All I want to do is drive. I can handle the long hours on the road and I am a runner. I have experience with a reefer box, flat bed, dry van and end dump. Is there anyone that is hiring drivers that took a little break from trucking? I haven't forgot how to drive a truck or fill out a log book or back a trailer. All I need is a job not a bunch of red tape.

I have been divorced for almost 3 years and all I have time for is getting back on the road and driving. I need a job and truckin is what I love to do. anyone able to help. Maybe you are an owner operator that needs a driver. All the big companies want recent OTR so far as I can tell. There has got to be a way to get me back in a truck and back on the road.

well i got hired onto CR England last friday and now I have to wait for a trainer, Ya thats right a trainer. I have to go out with one for 10 days and then I will get my own truck. so far so good. Nothing bad yet and hopefully it will stay that way. I did have to come home over weekend cuz my mom went to the hostipal and they had no problem of me goiung in fact they are buying my bus ticket back to burnsharbor,in. leave at noon on 3-4-09 well will write more later , to everyone out there be safe,
