Ok lets see if any one can give me a good answer to this.
I'm awaiting an answer as well.
Trucks move america but yet every one wants to make us shut our trucks off when we sleep, why is that?
Because Diesel engines cause pollution as evidenced by the smoke emanating from the stacks. The SIMPLEMINDED in this country are the ones responsible for the initiation of ANTI-TRUCK IDLING laws and they consistently FAIL TO REALIZE that even a poor running Diesel engine still burns most proficiently when compared to a gasoline engine AND that there are excessively more Gasoline engines polluting all environments than Diesel engines.
We start doing this and there will be more deaths in america then there are already.
TRUE yet as stated above, the SIMPLEMINDED do not care about how many people suffocate, fry and/or freeze as long as the ANTI TRUCK IDLING POLICE are successfully administering their appointed duties of penalizing TRUCK DRIVERS that fail to heed the pointless and damaging "laws, rules, regulations". Just another brainless way to generate money while simultaneously destroying a profession and increasing the ranks of the unemployed or unemployable.
To me this country has things backwards they have forgotten with out trucks america stops.
There are NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE (IF ANY) for filling an ORGANIZATION in order to implement any wanton resistance to these new "laws, rules, regulations". Forget OOIDA and ATA as they're only for their own missions and actually stand behind what they believe whether or not it coincides with what you want or believe. When (if) there ever is some organized resistance, then AND ONLY THEN shall there be some changes initiated. The feds only comprehend FORCE or VIOLENCE and without these they don't see any problem or recognize any affronts to their decisions against TRUCKERS and TRUCKING.
So i say screw their laws I will idle my truck when i sleep or they wont get their freight.
Good idea in thought and when you have incurred numerous FINES FOR IDLING and/or have had your truck or combo impounded for lack of payment(s), let us know how that strategy is working for you.
States that have Idling restrictions: WA., OR., CA., AZ., NM., TX., LA., MS., GA., FL., SC., NC., VA., WV., DE., MD., The North East or new England quadrant, PA., OH., MI., IN., IL., WI., MN., ND., SD., IA., KS., MO., AR., OK., etc.
The idea of "Do not deliver to the states that have Idling restrictions" is a great idea if one is not a Truck Driver because there are more states against Idling than for Idling. One would therefore have a very short delivery frame and would verily spend A LOT OF TIME sitting and waiting for "those loads" that only go to "those states". check www.atri.com for States having Idling issues and their aligned FINES and amounts.
I understand why no one will shut their trucks down for the fuel but come on guys how are we supposed to get rest if we have no ac?
IdleAire where/when available at $2.85 an hour (at last years price). It's CHEAPER to get a Motel/Hotel room where feasible/possible.
When enough current drivers QUIT DRIVING and Newbies are not available, the companies will simply acquire FOREIGNERS to fill the empty seats as these companies have been doing for some years.
